How it Began

Pastor Alonge, Chairman, Barachel Group of Schools

What today has become a giant oak known as Barachel Group of Schools started as a little seed in 1988. With inspiration from God, Pastor  Olusegun Joshua Alonge started what was called Barachel Nursery and Primary School. At that time, he was the head of a primary school along Agbado Road.

With a humble beginning of pupil population under 10, the Lord has blessed His work and increased the number to above 1000 in the two sites maintained by the Group. Both the primary and secondary arms today boast of above 2000 pupils and students.

Over the years, we’ve noticed the workings of the Lord with us as the growth within the span of our existence is nothing but the favor of God coupled with focused and commitment to quality education.

Our Mission

Barachel Educational Group is out to provide functional and affordable education to its students. We favor a practical oriented approach to education, such that our graduates can employ the education they acquire to solve real life problems and better their lots.

Our Mandate

As masters in the art of character formation, we instill the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom, in our students. We strive to produce leaders of tomorrow equipped with requisite wherewithal to make positive and meaningful impacts in their various societies.

Having discovered that government alone cannot provide education for the ever increasing population, Barachel as a private body desires to provide quality education for as many people that are willing with minimal tuition fees.

Barachel Educational establishment is a government approved international private school. It is accredited by Lagos State Government and the Federal Government of  the Republic of Nigeria to instruct and train pupils for the Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSSCE) and the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE). The school also prepares students for the International General Certificate for Secondary School Education (IGCSE) and the Cambridge A Level Examination.

Our Edge

With superb teaching methodologies and techniques, you would be surprised at how easily we can mould your kids into academic giants. From Crèche/Playgroups through Nursery and Primary up to Secondary Schools, we have it all. At Barachel, excellence has become our tradition. All thanks to our teachers who are highly qualified, experienced and caring enough to see the need of pupils/students over and above an 8am—4pm occupation.

Aside of all these, special support is also provided for the small number of students with specific learning difficulties. This is to ensure that all students attain their academic potentials while at Barachel.

More importantly, pastoral care is a central school policy that is given all seriousness it deserves. Each student is attached to a tutor that monitors the academic, moral and social progress of the child. Through this means, each student receives individual attention. This has proved effective in making the students become well-rounded total beings, fully prepared to face the challenges of post-secondary education.
